At Springboard, we’re passionate about helping adults grow in confidence, discover new skills, and feel ready for whatever comes next. That’s why we’re proud to support the National Numeracy Challenge 2026, a nationwide campaign designed to help people feel more comfortable with everyday maths and take positive steps toward improving their numeracy.
For many adults, numbers can feel overwhelming. But with the right support, encouragement, and a friendly space to learn, confidence can grow quickly. That’s exactly what the National Numeracy Challenge and Springboard are all about.
What Is the National Numeracy Challenge?
The National Numeracy Challenge is a free online tool that helps adults check their current numeracy level and build confidence with everyday maths. It’s designed for real life: things like budgeting, timings, measurements, and supporting children with homework.
It includes:
- A short skills check
- A more detailed numeracy check‑up
- Personalised learning resources
- Activities to help build confidence step by step
It’s flexible, friendly, and can be done at your own pace perfect for anyone who hasn’t studied maths in a while.
Why Numeracy Matters in 2026
This year’s theme, “Count on Your Community,” highlights something we see every day at Springboard: when people feel supported, they’re far more likely to take that first step.
Good numeracy skills can:
- Boost confidence
- Improve job prospects
- Make everyday tasks easier
- Help with managing money
- Support family life
And most importantly improving your numeracy is absolutely possible at any age.
