Ascentis Level 1 Award in Understanding Safeguarding for Work, Education and Life

The Ascentis Level 1 Award in Understanding Safeguarding for Work, Education and Life is designed to give learners knowledge and understanding of safeguarding in work, education and life contexts. This includes the different types of abuse and how to recognise them, possible safeguarding issues caused by modern technology, the meaning of discrimination and victimisation and the importance of disclosing safeguarding concerns to professionals.

Aims

The aims of the qualification enable learners to:

• Know the meaning of safeguarding in work, education and life contexts

• Know different types of abuse and their recognition features

• Understand the possible safeguarding issues caused by modern technology

• Understand the meaning of discrimination and victimisation

• Understand the importance of disclosing safeguarding concerns to professionals

Assessment Method

This qualification is assessed through the completion of an Ascentis-devised multiple-choice test that is carried out at the completion of the course, available as a paper-based test or an e-assessment.

The grading of this qualification is pass or did not achieve.
