Kickstart Scheme

What is the Kickstart Scheme?

Bringing a young person on board into your business via a Government scheme may seem like a challenge too far when you need to focus on delivering the day job.

The Kickstart Scheme is £2 billion programme of funding to employers to create new 6-month job placements for young people aged 16 – 24 years old who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment.

Springboard have partnered with the East Cheshire Chamber of Commerce to enable the SME’s in our region to access this innovative scheme and help get young people into employment.

How can I get involved?

Employers of all sizes can apply for funding which covers:

100% of the National Minimum Wage  for 25 hours per week for a total of 6 months

Associated employer National Insurance contributions

Employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions

There is a further grant of £1500 per placement to deliver wrap around support for the training and development of the individual.
